The heavy leather-bound pulpit bible, printed in 1884, is assumed to have been in use here since the church was built in 1885. This dedication page indicates that the bible was given to Faith Chapel by Mrs. Marie Baldwin and Mrs. Mamie Watts, her sister. After almost 120 years of service, it's still in pretty good condition. Other historical records state that "It is also known that the pulpit Bible was given by Capt. William Kemp." Was there another pulpit bible?
